Ahhhh....Sundays.....

I was a creative little lady today! Finished off a few projects (none of the ones I mentioned in an earlier post!) and am really happy with the results!
Usually on Sundays I enjoy coffee, toast and read the paper, but this morning I was feeling great so put some of my energy into finishing this board.
I used some quilting batting (not sure if that sounds right!) to cover a cork board, then stretched this Amy Butler fabric over it and nailed them together!
The next step was then to cross the brown and white spotted ribbon across it!

I love the end result and the way the fabrics have that WOW factor! I have always been a huge Amy Butler fan and was so happy to have stumbled across this print!

The other project I will have to show later as I am having problems downloading my images and where they are sitting in my posts!
Will work on it!

My, how time flys......

Well I can't believe its over a month since I've posted anything!! What have I been doing??!!
I'm in the middle of making a bib for a special friend who has had a baby girl!! Congrats!
And I've bought some pillow inserts to make some new cushions for the couches in our main lounge room! ( I haven't even started them yet to be honest!)
I'm also tackling an old door frame to turn into a picture frame to put above our bed. This needs some hard work put into it so have I have to really get going on it!
Okay so that all sounds great, but I need to finish them so I can show you! Enough said, I'm off to finish them.

long break already....

Well I'm back after a break from blogging. I started to miss doing this so thought I would get back into it!
Lots been happening in the household this last month... we had to do a whole new toilet as ours leaked so bad we had to strip it back to the floor beams etc. It was hard going and took us two weeks but we are back in business, so to speak! The lovely thing is that at least we got to pick new colours and put our taste into it!!!
Haven't done much sewing but have big plans for future projects which I am starting tomorrow, so I will promise to do lots more posts from now on!!! Enjoy your night!

no more spills....

Well here I am back again after a few days away! I thought I would show you my basic sewing skills in action. I made this apron from some lovely materials I have collected from spotlight and a shop here in town. Those who know me, have seen me in action in the kitchen and this apron is a must!!! I love to cook but am a little clumsy when doing so!!

My mum helped me to make it without a pattern and its turned out lovely... don't you think?

The material is a cotton and is easy to wash.. as I have done so nearly every time I have used it!!
It only took two Thursday nights to make. Mum and I get together every Thursday night to sew and catch up. It's a special time to share together as we are both busy ladies.
I'm heading off to her place tonight to try and make a costume for a party we have to attend on the weekend. You have to go as something starting with 'C'. So I found some brown material in the cupboard and thought of a cave woman!!
I will show you the results in the next few days!

Random things.

This is my dining room table.. its new and i just love the colour! The vase on the table was a pressy for my birthday and i love the pink blossoms with the red. The vase reminds me of my favourite nail polish as it has a 3d effect when the light hits it.
The old church doors behind the table will eventually be french doors but until we can afford them i am going to paint the original ones white. I feel theres too much wood going on and needs some light.

I have this small thing for roosters! I know... very country but they are cute and make me smile!

This little display is in our lounge room and next to the couch. Every so often i find them new homes in the house! No one notices if they move .. only me!

Welcome!!

Well hello.....and welcome to my blog!!!

My name is Cherridyn and here is my first ever post!

Here goes... i should start by saying a few things about myself and what this blog is about.

I am 30 and have been married to my wonderful husband for 4 years. We bought our first house last year and have been slowly doing things around it to make it ours!! I love to make things whether its sewing or doing other crafty things. I am still learning and have been looking around at other blogs for inspiration. I believe life is what you make it and am loving it so far!

I hope to be able to share with you things i have made, things that i love and happy times!!

I also plan to make this blog beautiful like the ones i love to visit so any advice would be gladly appreciated!!!
